About Alix Blüh
Alix began her jewelry career during her time as a student receiving a BFA in painting at the University of Massachusetts. She was spending all her free time making one of a kind jewelry that she started selling in galleries in NYC and Boston. There were a couple years spent living in London after college before moving to San Francisco in 1992 where she started her own studio and built collections biyearly for Galleries all over the world. In eight countries to be exact. She sold to renowned as well as small boutiques, galleries, museums and gift stores and catalogs such as Sundance and Pendleton .There was a 15 year period of prolific production and 2 full time assistants. In 2007 Alix opened Modern Relics in the quiet Richmond District next the the Golden Gate Park and the De Young Museum. Here her attention pivoted from a wholesale business to a scaled down working Atelier Gallery where she could sell straight to her own clientele and create her life long dream gallery space. What she discovered was the ability to go back to making one of a kind pieces as well a small production on her most requested designs. This gallery is her petri dish of exploration. She created beautiful vitrines to display the jewelry as well as show art works and ceramics by other talented artists.
